Ln. M. Afzalur Rahman was born in Dhaka in 1925. He obtained his BA degree in 1949 and Law degree in 1951 from the University of Dhaka. He was the member of Bureau of National Reconstruction from 1958 to 1962. He was the Managing Director of Janata Bank in 1982. Ln. Rahman was Managing Director of Premier Group of Industries.

Ln. Rahman joined the Lions Club in 1962 and organized Lions Club of Dhaka Metropolitan in 1973. He held various position in the Lions District 315 and became the District Governor in the year 1980-1981. He attended as the Head of Bangladesh delegation at the 12th South-East Asian Lions Forum held in Bangkok, Thailand in December 1973. He was awarded International Lions Award in 1980 for organizing Lioness District Council.

He was a life member of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society since 1958. He was the Treasurer of Bangladesh Cycling Federation and President of Bangladesh Soap Manufacturers Association.

His wife Lioness Halima Afzal was the President of Lioness District. They have two sons and two daughters.

He left his last breath in September 2010 and kept his family with deep sorrow.

Ln. Dr. Mustafizur Rahman was born at Bhaluka Thana, Mymenshingh on January 15, 1935. He obtained MBBS degree from the University of Dhaka in 1958, Diploma in Ophthalmology from London in 1964 and FRCS degree from Ireland in 1966, from Edinburgh in 1968, FCPS from Bangladesh in 1978 and FRC ophth from England in 1989.

He is a renowned eye specialist and presently he is the Director-cum-Chief Consultant of Islamia Eye Hospital and MAI Institute of Ophthalmology, Dhaka. He is an honorary ophthalmic consultant of Bangladesh Armed Forces and holds the rank of a Colonel. He was the Civil Surgeon of Barisal and Professor of Dhaka Medical College. He is the Convener (Preventive) of Bangladesh National Council for the Blind, 1980 to present, President-Bangladesh Eye Care Society and Bangladesh Intraocular Lens Society; Member Advisory Board-Project ORBIS International; Surgical Eye Expedition (USA Based); International Council of Ophthalmology and International Member – American Academy of Ophthalmology.

He joined the Lionism in 1970 and became Club President of the Club, Zone Chairman, Deputy Governor and he became the Lions Governor of the undivided District 315 in 1986-1987.

Ln. Rahman awarded many awards including 100% President award, MJF Award, Membership Achievement Award, Atish Dipankar Gold Medal in recognition of his social service and Dr. Alim Memorial Gold Medal for extraordinary contribution in the field of ophthalmology and social activity. Ln. Prof. Dr. Mustafizur Rahman received Independence Award in 1985.

His wife Lns. Jebunnesa Rahman was the President of Lioness Club of Dhaka Metropolitan and blessed with four children.

Ln. M. G. Morshed, a dedicated social worker and educationist, was born in a respectable family in the district of Sirajganj on July 10, 1943. Ln. Morshed have been grown up in sociopolitical environment. His parents were pious and well-known philanthropists. Ln. Morshed had his early education in Sirajganj. After completing his Secondary Education in Sirajganj, he did his Graduation, Masters in Economics and L.L.B from the Dhaka University. He also did Diploma Courses in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka University. He attended higher management courses in Thailand, UK and USA during the tenure of his services.

Ln. Morshed started his service career with Cyanamid Ltd., an American International Firm. Later he joined Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and I.C.D.D.R.B and worked there in Senior Management positions. He is now the Managing Director of Greenland Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a reputed medicine company of the country. A renowned social worker, Ln. Morshed has been involved in social works since his school days. He was also involved in students movements and social organisation. He was the founder President of Sirajganj District Chattra League and was elected the General Secretary of Sirajganj College Students Union during 1962-1963.

Ln. Morshed established a number of educational institutions in the country for the furtherance of education and social advancement of the people. Among the noted ones are Begum Noorjahan Memorial Girls High School and Wahedia Iftedai Madrasah, Dhaka Hafezia Madrasha in Manikganj. He is a Life Member of IMH, UK, BLF and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.

Ln. Morshed joined Lionism in 1978 as a member of Lions Club of Dhaka Metropolitan and was the Club Director from 1980 to 1986. He founded the Lions Club of Dhaka Agargaon in 1986 and was the President of the Club for two years. He held different positions in the Lions District such as District Chairman 1986-1987, Convention Secretary 1987, Cabinet Treasurer 1987-1988, Deputy District Governor 1988-1989, Region Chairman 1989-1990 and 1991-1992.

The most remarkable recognition of his career in Lionism was his being elected as the District Governor of Lions Clubs International, District 315 B, Bangladesh for the year 1992-1993 with overwhelming majority. He was also entrusted with the coveted position of the Chairman of Bangladesh Lions Foundation for the year 1993-1994, the pride project of the Lions of Bangladesh.

Ln. MG Morshed received many District and International Awards for his outstanding services in Lionism. These awards include: Membership Achievement Award, 100% President’s Awards for 2 terms, Supreme Extension Award for organizing 14 Lions Clubs, District Governor’s Commendation Awards (4 times), International President’s Special Appreciation Award (2 times), International President’s Leadership Awards in 1991, 10 years perfect Attendance Awards, 48 Club Extension Award as District Governor from International President, Special Growth Award by the International President as District Governor, Key of Nation Award for sponsoring more than 100 Lions.

A widely traveled person, Ln. Morshed attended International Lions Conventions at Taiwan in 1987, at Denver in 1988, Hong Kong in 1992 and Minneapolis, USA in 1993. He has traveled a number of Asian, European and American countries.

Ln. Morshed was happily married with Lion Lady Tahsina Morshed and a proud father of two daughters and a son.

Ln. Ataul Karim hails from the District of Bogra. His father Late Mohamad Fazlul Karim was a senior member of the Bengal Civil Service (BCS) of the undivided British India. His mother Begum Amina Karim was also a dedicated social worker.

Ln. Ataul Karim was allthrough a meritorious student and passed his Matriculation and Intermediate examinations in 1953 and 1955 respectively in First Divisions. He had his B.A. (Hons) in 1958 and M.A. in 1959 from the University of Dhaka with credit. Later on he obtained “fellowship” from the Asia Pacific Development Institute (APDI) and Economic Development Institute (ED!) successfully. He completed his “Staff Course” in 1985.

Ln. Karim had his “army attachment” with the 4th Bengal Regiment during 1967. Besides, he had foreign training in Rural Development & Cooperative, Telecommunications, Gas and Energy, Industrial Productivity and organizational matters. He represented Bangladesh in the Asian Productivity Organizations Conferences (APO) several times in 1992-1993 while he was Additional Secretary, Ministry of Industries, Government of Bangladesh.

Ln. Ataul Karim, Secretary of the Special Affairs Division, Prime Minister’s Office, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, has not only a chequered career as a brilliant civil servant, but also a dedicated social worker of outstanding caliber. He is widely known not only as a dedicated Lion but also a man of high integrity and social background. Ln. Ataul Karim during his service career held very important positions in the Govt. and was widely known as an honest, bold, efficient, outspoken and a dedicated popular civil servant. His contributions to various 196 Ministries/ Divisions and Corporations can ~~ hardly be exaggerated. His role in the repatriation work of the tribal refugees from India is well known to everybody home and abroad in the capacity as Secretary, Special Affairs Division, Govt. of Bangladesh.

Ln. Ataul Karim joined Lionism in the year 1974-1975, and since then has been connected with this largest International organization in various capacities like, Club President, District Chairman, Zone Chairman, Deputy District Governor, Region Chairman and Advisor to the District Governor. He was elected uncontested the District Governor in year 1993-1994, and devoted his all out efforts to streamline the administrative and the organizational matters of the newly created District 315 B1, Bangladesh. During his tenure as District Governor the District 315 B1 has the history of Lionism in Bangladesh. For that he has been awarded the Governor’s Extension Award (16) from the International Association of Lions Clubs in 1993-1994, apart from District Governor’s Award. In recognition of his meritorious contributions to Lionism as well as social service and Community Development, Ln. Ataul Karim was decorated with the National Awards, Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Gold Medal in 1988 and Sher-e-Bangla A.K. Fazlul Hug award in 1988. He was awarded on the following year Palli Kabi Jasim Uddin award and Chitrali Readers award for valuable contributions to social service and general administration respectively. He was awarded Sri Atish Depanker Gold Medal in 1992-1993 for his contribution to administration of the country.

Besides national recognition, Ln. Karim bagged more than 27 merit awards & certificates from the Association of Lions Clubs International from 1976-1994 including 100% President’s Award and Governor’s Award. The Nobel Laureate Mother Teresa is the symbol of inspiration of Ln. Ataul Karim. He had the rare opportunity to come in touch with the Nobel laureate while she graced a seminar on adult illiteracy organized by the Lions Club of Dhaka Central under the Chairmanship of Ln. Ataul Karim, then Deputy District Governor, District 315, Bangladesh during 1983.

Ln. Ataul Karim is married to Lioness Ismat Karim, former First Vice President of Lioness Club of Dhaka Central and presently a Director of the Lions Club of Dhaka Federal. They are happily married and blessed with a charming daughter and a smiling son.

Ln. M. A. Salam Talukder, an eminent Lawyer and social worker was born in a respectable Muslim family of Pirojpur Town. He passed the Matriculation Examination from the Pirojpur Govt. High School in the year 1957. Later he took B. Com. Degree from B. M. College. Afterwards obtaining L.L.B. Degree from the University of Dhaka in 1968, he started his law practice.

From the early boyhood he devoted himself in the social work. Ln. Talukder is the founder member of many Schools, Madrasha and Orphanage. He was one of the founder member and also a member of governing body of Aftabuddin College, Pirojpur. He took vital role in establishing the Indurkanj College also. He was the founder of Nurun Nessa Kindergarten and A.S.T. Academy at Pirojpur. With his financial assistance and initiation Eskander Welfare Foundation was established at Pirojpur. Under this Foundation a 50 bed Hospital which helped the local economical development, provided unemployed, poor men and women getting financial help was estabished as a whole.

Many times Ln. Talukder took the responsibility of Secretary and other care to Taxes Bar Association. He was Secretary General of National Forum of Bangladesh Taxes Lawyers Association for 2 (two) terms. He was also the President of the same Forum. Further more he was performing the responsibility of Treasurer of International Fiscal Association (IFA). Ln. Talukder was elected member of Bangladesh Bar Council 2 (two) terms. He entrusted the responsibility of member of Tribunal of Bar Council in the year 1994-1995. Besides these he was entrusted with the responsibility of President of Pirojpur District Association, Vice President of Barisal Division Association.

In addition to these he has been devoting himself, in his busy life, to improve the social atmosphere. He was the working member of Bangladesh Heart Foundation, Life member of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Advisor of Madak Birodhi Sangathan “Life”, Life member – Alumni Association of Dhaka University, Life Member – Bangladesh Lions Foundation. With the inspiration of Late Lion Salam Kabir in 1979-1980 he joined Lionism through Dhaka Agrani Lions Club. He was entrusted the responsibility of District Chairman, Zone Chairman, Cabinet Treasurer, Region Chairman and lastly as Region Chairman-1. He was entrusted with the responsibility of Chairman (Acting) of Bangladesh Lions Foundation in 1991-1993. In 1993 he was elected as Vice Governor of District 315 B1. And was District Governor in 1994-1995.

Ln. Salam Talukder was also a Melvin Jones Fellow. He joined on many occasions of International Convention. He led the 21st Africa and South West Asia Lions Forum on behalf of District 315 B1. In various activities he earned the following awards:

Membership Achievement Award, 100% President’s Award, Melvin Jones Fellow Award, Appreciation Award from District & Multiple District, Appreciation Award for organising 12 Lions Clubs, Akram Khan Gold Medal, Bangabandhu Gold Medal.

He has traveled almost all the countries of the Globe like Great Britain, USA, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Pakistan etc.

Ln. Talukder was happily married to Lion Lady Nurun Nessa Talukder, who also contributed and devoted herself in many social development activities.

Ln. Sheikh Kabir Hossain was born in 1944 in a respectable Muslim family of Tungipara in Gopalganj District. He graduated from Jagannath College, Dhaka and obtained Masters degree from the University of Dhaka. His father Late Sheikh Musharraf Hussain Khan Sahib was a social worker of national fame. Late Khan Sahib was a member of the Parliament and was associated with different social organizations. Inspired by the idealism of his father Sheikh Kabir Hossain devoted himself to social work.

After completing his education, he served the Statistical Bureau of the then Government of Pakistan, Sonali Bank and Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation. He resigned from his service in 1982 and started business. He is now the Managing Partner of a Chinese Restaurant. Now he is the Chairman of Sonar Bangla Insurance Company Ltd., Cabico Ltd.

Ln. Sheikh Kabir Hossain was indoctrinated to Lionism in 1976 through the Lions Club of Dhaka Metropolitan led by the Past District Governor Ln. Afzalur Rahman and Ln. Prof. Dr. Mustafizur Rahman. He became President of the Club in 1987. He has organized Lions Club of’ Dhaka Down Town 1991-1992 and presently is the Advisor of the Club.

Ln. Kabir besides performing different responsibilities of the Club, he has served as District Co-Chairman Youth Exchange of District 315, Bangladesh. He was the District Chairman of Leo Clubs with the establishment of Distrct 315 B. Under his leadership a nice International Youth Camp was successfully organised at BARD, Comilla. Ln. Sheikh Kabir was the Chairman, Lions Annual District Convention in 1988-1989.

Ln. Sheikh Kabir was Cabinet Treasurer in 1989-1990. He was Region Chairman consecutively for 2 terms and Region Chairman HQ during 1993-1994. He was elected Vice District Governor for the term 1994-1995 and District Governor for the year 1995-1996 uncontested. He was Co-ordinator of SightFirst during 1992-1994. He was Council Chairman in 1996-1997 of Multiple District 315, Bangladesh, International Director in 2005-2007, Lions Clubs International.

Ln. Sheikh Kabir during his long 30 years of Lionism received Appreciaiton Awards from the International and District on different occasions. 100% President Award, Membership Development and Extension Awards, October Membership Growth Award, Master Key Award, Membership Achievement Award, 10 years Perfect Attendance Award, Guiding Lion Awards, Commendation Certificate from International President and District Governor Award.

Ln. Sheikh Kabir Hossain was the Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, and Life member of some organization –  Bangladesh Andha Kalyan Samity, Bangladesh Family Planning Association and Bangladesh Lions Foundation. Besides, he is the member of the Management Board of Red Crescent Hospital of his locality, Degree College, School, madrasah and other Institutions, Sheikh Musharraf Hussain School, a Technical Training Centre and a Public Library in his locality.

Ln. Ln. Benajir Ahmed PMJF, a well known dedicated social worker hails from Motlab under Chandpur District was born on 12th December, 1953. Blessed with good academic career, he educated from Dhaka Govt. College and Masters from Dhaka University. He completed Chartered Accountant Course from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh. He also completed a short course on Business Management from USA. He was an elected executive member of Dhaka University Commerce Faculty Student Union for 1972-1974.

Ln. Benajir Ahmed, a Melvin Jones Fellow, joined in Lionism in the year 1978 with Lions Club of Dhaka Metropolitan and served the Club in different capacity including Secretary for three terms. He was the President of Lions Club of Dhaka Shahbagh for the year 1988-1989. He is the Founder of Lions Club of Dhaka Greater Shahbagh and holding the post of Advisor & Director of the Club. Ln. Benajir Ahmed organized 26 New Lions Club and received Appreciation Award from the President, Lions Clubs International. For his outstanding contribution towards Lionism, Ln. Benajir received various award & certificates from Lions Clubs International & District including International President’s Certificate of Appreciation for 3 times, 15 years Membership Award, District Governor’s Commendation Award from 15 District Governors, Helen Kellers Membership Growth Award & Key Members Awards. Many times he attended the International Convention of Lions Clubs International.

Ln. Benajir Ahmed holding his position as Cabinet member of Lions District since 1982 with different capacity including Joint Cabinet Secretary, District Chairman, Zone Chairman, Convention Secretary, Region Chairman & Vice District Governor. He also associated with Multiple District 315, Bangladesh in different capacity since its inception. For his dedicated service, Ln. Benajir Ahmed has been awarded by the International Leaders including three International Past Presidents. He was a member of BLF Management Board, Ln. Benajir Ahmed has been assigned from Lions Clubs International as Multiple District Membership Chairman for 3 years from 1996 to 1999. He also elected as Vice Council Chairman of Lions Multiple District 315, Bangladesh for 1996-1997.

Ln. Benajir Ahmed is associate with many Socio Cultural organizations. He was the Chairman OISCA International (Japan), Bangladesh National Chapter, Secretary General-Bangladesh United States Friendship Association. He is one of the Founder & Life member of the Board of Governors of North South University, Dhaka. For his outstanding contribution in the social service Ln. Benajir has been awarded Michael Modhusudhan award, Bhasani Padak & Bangladesh Education Trust “Gold Medal”. He is the Managing Editor of “The Daily Purbavas” an esteemed daily of the country. He is the Vice President of Chandpur Zilla Samity. Ln. Ahmed is a Donor Member of Gulshan Club, Dhaka.

Ln. Benajir Ahmed is a reputed Industrialist of the country. He is the Chairman & Managing Director of Raymond Group of Industries. For his contribution towards the national economy, Ln. Benajir has been awarded by the Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh CIP (Commercial Important Person) for several times. He is the Director of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry, E.C Member of Bangladesh Employers Association & Vice President of Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGMEA).

Ln. Benajir Ahmed represents Bangladesh Lions to the United Nations at UNHQ at New York in 1992. He also represents Bangladesh to the Earth Summit organized by the United Nation in 1992 at Rio-de-Janeiro, Brazil. As delegate of the Bangladesh Trade Delegation Ln. Benajir Ahmed visited USA, Latin America, Australia, Japan and most of the European countries & Far Eastern countries.

Ln. Benajir Ahmed has been elected uncontested as District Governor of Lions Clubs International, District 315 B1, Bangladesh for the year 1996-1997.

Ln. Abdul Hamid MJF was born in 1949 in a respectable Muslim family of Tangail, Bangladesh. His father Alhaj Abdul Quddus is an well-known social worker of the area and he has lot of contributions in many local development works, including establishment of educational institutions.

Ln. Abdul Hamid did his school education in Tangail and did the High School final from Elashin T.J. High School in 1965. He got his college education in Govt. College, Kushtia and Govt. Edward College, Pabna. He obtained his Masters Degree in Science with major in Oceanography from University of Karachi in 1971. In 1972 he started his own business. At the same time he seriously felt to do something in education sector. He, along with his friends, started development activities of “Shibpur Shaheed Asad College, Narsingdi”. He was founder Lecturer of Biological Science Department of the College. With the united and untiring efforts the college came to a good standing. At that time Ln. Abdul Hamid left the lecturership and devoted himself fully in business from 1976.

He established a good number of companies and created job opportunities for many. He has been holding the post of Managing Director of the companies viz. Tridhara Housing Ltd. and Director of JCM-Tridhara Consortium. He is well experienced in the field of International Trade, Textile, Construction and Real Estate business.

Ln. Abdul Hamid joined Lionism in 1980 in the Lions Club of Dhaka Premier and served in several positions in the Board of Directors of the Club including the President of the Club in 1986-1987. Ln. Abdul Hamid hold many important positions in the District 315 Bl which includes: District Chairman, District Convention Treasurer, District Convention Chairman, Zone Chairman, Region Chairman and Vice District Governor of 1996-1997, He was elected District Governor for the year 1997-1998,

In April 1992, a new Lions Club in the name “Lions Club of Dhaka Orchid” was orgnaised and formed under able leadership and guidance of Ln. Abdul Hamid, along with some other enthusiastic Lions and social workers. Since then he is the Director and Advisor of the Club.

This club has a very high reputation in the District for its service and other activities. To mention : in 1993, the newly formed Club was in 1st position in the District 315B; in 1994, 1st position in District 315B; in 1995, 2nd position in District 315 B1.

From International Association of Lions Clubs, Ln. Abdul Hamid as received many commemorations and appreciations which include: International President’s Certificate of Appreciation’, Award for Organizing New Clubs, ‘October Membership Growth Award,’ 100% President Award’, ‘Master-Key Award’, ‘Membership Achievement Award’, ‘Membership Development and Extensions Award’ etc.

Ln. Abdul Hamid is a Melvin Jones Fellow. He is very much involved in activities of District 315 B1 and also in Multiple District 315, Bangladesh. He served as the Chairman, Sight First, MD 315 and Advisor, BLF Spectacles Committee. Besides, Ln. Abdul Hamid has received many appreciations and awards from every District Governor for his outstanding contributions in Lionism. Ln. Hamid attended many International Conventions of Lions Clubs. He is a widely travelled person and he has travelled many countries of America. Europe and Asia.

Ln. Abdul Hamid is a veteran social worker and is associated with many development works of the community, specially in his native area. Ln. Engr. Iqbal H. Khan was born in a respectable Muslim family of District town Tangail in the year 1951. From the very childhood Ln. Iqbal was brought up in a enlighten political and educational environment from both the maternal and paternal side. His father late Shamsul Haque Khan was graduated from Calcutta University with distinction in the year 1937 and was engaged in Government Service from the then British Government till his retirement in the year 1972 with the Bangladesh Government. His mother was a active associate of then Communist Party before independence in the year 1947.

Ln. Engr. Khan was a meritorious student during his whole educational period and secured scholarship in the school & college level and successfully completed his graduation in the Engineering field from the University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka in the year 1972. During his college and university life he participated in different inter college and inter university debates, recitation and extempo competition and also secured various positions there. Ln. Iqbal was also involved in active student politics in his college and university life and he was holding the office of President of the then Student League, Nazrul Islam Hall and BUET unit during the tenures 1969-1970 and 1970-1971.

After graduation in the year 1972 from the BUET Ln. Engr. Khan was engaged in business in the field of construction and consultancy service in the name and style “Alpha Engineers Ltd.” which was established as one of the leading construction company of the country within the period commencing from 1975 to 1985. Other than construction and consultancy Ln. Khan is also engaged in different trading and fashion wear business too.

Ln. Iqbal joined Lionism in the year 1973 through Lions Club of Dhaka Metropolitan and became President of the club in the year 1988-1989. He was assigned the position of Co-Chairman of the District Cabinet of District 315 B, Bangladesh in the year 1986-1987 and became District Chairman of bifurcated District 315 B in the year 1988-1989 and

Zone Chairman in the year 1989-1990. To extend the service of Lionism and Leadership Ln. Iqbal organized a new club, Lions Club of Dhaka Metropolitan South in the year 1991-1992 and became Region Chairman of District 315 B, Bangladesh. After bifurcation of District 315 B in the year 1993-1994, Ln. Khan was remain with District 315 B1 and hold the position of Region Chairman and Region Chairman (HQ) of District Cabinet up to 1996-1997. With unanimous support of all the Lions, Ln. Khan was elected Vice District Governor of District 315 B1 for the tenure 1997-1998. At last the year of his great achievement, Ln. Iqbal H. Khan was unanimously elected the District Governor of District 315 B1 for the year 1998-1999. Ln. Iqbal H. Khan was serving as the Council Chairman of the Multiple District 315, Bangladesh for the year 1999-2000.

During this long tenure of Lionism Ln. Iqbal has received many awards and certificates from both District and International Head Quarters. Among those some remarkable are, 100% President Award, District Governors Commendation Awards, Extension Awards, Membership Growth Awards, International President Appreciation Certificate and many other.

As District Governor Ln. Khan has attended the District Governor elect Conference at St. Charles, Ilinois, USA held on 3-7 April, 1998. Ln. Iqbal has successfully completed the schooling program. Ln. Ln. Rashed Maksud Khan was born in a Muslim family of Faridpur on the 10th May, 1940. Having completed his bachelor degree in the Chemical Engineering from the BUET in the year 1963, he pursued higher studies in Ceramic Engineering from Japan under the sponsorship of JICA, Japan.

Ln. Khan served the then EPIDC and the IDBP in responsible positions until 1969. He then pioneered in setting up the country’s First tableware industry in the private sector. Later in 1981, he established the only stoneware factory in Bangladesh namely Bengal Fine Ceramics Limited, which is a joint venture export oriented industry. Through export of his products to many countries of the continents including USA, Canada, Australia and Asia, he has brought Bangladesh in the limelight of the buininess world.

Ln. Khan joined lionism in the year 1974 in the Lions Club of Dhaka South as a charter member. The Lions Club of Dhaka South being the 30th club in Bangladesh had a significant role to play in establishing a fulfledged Lions District in Bangladesh and helped in the creation of Lions District 315. In the year 1979-1980 Ln. Khan became the Presidcnt of the said Lions Club of Dhaka South which he was cherished for all these years. He held important positions in Lions District 315 and also in Sub-District 315 B and 315 B1 as under: (i) District Chairman; (ii) Zone Chairman; (iii) Cabinet Treasurer; (iv) Region Chairman; (v) Region Chairman (HQ) 1996-1998.

Ln. M. A. Muhaimin Saleh MJF was born in 1951 in a respectabel Muslim family in Moulvibazar District in Sylhet Division. His Father late M.A. Musawwir was a Government Offical and mother late Taibunessa Khanam was a school teacher and a motivator for the growth of literacy among the poor illiterate villagers. Ln. Saleh was brought up in a cozy environment having brother and sisters.

Ln. Muhaimin Saleh completed his school education from Juri High School, Moulvibazar in 1966. He obtained his Bachelor from Moulvibazar College in 1970 and Master Degree from Chittagong University in the year 1974. Beside education, he involved himself in constructive students’ politics. He was the President of Chatra League and as well the leader of eleven point student movement in Habiganj District (the then sub-division) in 1968 and 1969 respectively. During the Liberation War he was a freedom fighter and District Commander of Bangladesh Liberation Force (Mujib Bahini).

Nurul Islam Mollah MJF who is all along a successful and meritorious banker was the General Manager of Sonali Bank which is the largest nationalized commercial bank of the country. Ln. Nurul Islam Mollah was born in 1946 in Gopalgonj District. He obtained primary scholarship from his village school under the then Bakergonj Range and passed his Matriculation from S.M. Model High School, Gopalgonj in 1962. He completed Higher Secondary Examination from Bangabandhu College, Gopalgonj (former Quaid-EAzam Memorial College) and B. Com (Hons) from Azam Khan Commerce College, Khulna. He obtained his Masters in Management from Rajshahi University in he year 1968. After successful completion of eductional career he joined Lohagara College as Lecturer of Commerce and served there upto June 1969. In 1969 he joined former United Bank Limited (now Janata Bank) as Officer grade-Il and started his celebrated Banking career. In his long Banking career he worked in different Capacities taking responsibility of important Baranches and Division of Janata Bank. In 1997 he was been promoted to the rank of Genreal Manager by the Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and served there till joining in Sonali Bank on 8th April 2001.

In his student life he was actively associated with Bangladesh Chatra League and was assigned with the post of Vice President, Azam Khan Commerce College Unit. After joining in Janata Bank he was invited to be associated with Lionism by the Past District Governor Ln. Afzalur Rahman and joined Lionism in 1977 as member of Lions Club of Dhaka Metropolitan, the then biggest Club in respect of both membership and activities in undivided District 315. He actively served this Club as Treasurer, Secretary & President with remarkable contribution. By dint of his leadership quality he was selected in the District Cabinet as District Chairman, Zone Chairman and Region Chairman for several terms and at last serving as District Governor in the year 2001-2002. Ln. Nurul Istam Mollah is a familiar name among the Lions of undivided Disrict 315 and contributed significantly at the different crucial juncture of Lionisrn in Bangladesh. A person having profound love for humanity, love for lionism and full of love and affection for his fellow lions is Ln. Nazmul Haque. With a willing spirit he is always ready to serve. Keeping this in mind he joined Lions Club of Dhaka Agrani in 1985 and became the Joint Secretary and Director in 1985-1986 and 19861987 respectively. With the hope in expanding services to the less fortunate, Ln. Nazmul Haque later formed a new Club namely, Lions Club of Dhaka Shamoli, sponsored by Lions Club of Dhaka Dilkusha in May 1988 and became the Chartered President for the term 1987-1988 and 1988-1989.

Ln. Sharif is holding the position of Group Chairman as the Chief Executive. The Nerob Group established their offices in Austria, Hong Kong & they have signed a contract with a Canadian Company for opening a Show Room to sale and buy of apperals.

With the bright beginning of business Ln. Sharif was always involved with various service activities and shared his feelings and efforts for the community in need. He established numbers of School and Madrasha in his native Village Faridpur. In the same locality about 25 School and College student are getting regular Scholarship with the contribution of Ln. Sharif through “Abdur Rahman Shikkha Trust” founded in the name of his Late father. The value of this contribution is about Tk. | (one) lac yearly.

Ln. Sharif joined Lionism in the year 1987 as a charter member with the formation of a new Club, Lions Club of Dhaka Greater Metropolitan of the then undivided District 315 B, Bangladesh. After joining the Club, he was elected Joint Secretary in the year 1989-1990 ancl Club Secretary in the following year. He hold the office of Club President of same Club for two consecutive year 1992-1993 & 1993-1994. In the year 19941995 Ln. Sharif organized his present Club Lions Club of Dhaka Golden Star and became Charter President and till date he is serving as the Advisor of the Club.

Ln. Sharif was assigned with various positions in the District Cabinet. He was District Chairman for the term 1992-1993, 1993-1994 and 1994-1995, Zone Chairman for the term 1995-1996, Region Chairman for the term 1996-1997 and 1998-2002. Finally he has been appointed as Region Chairman (HQ) tn the year 2002-2003. Next year 2003-2004 he was elected Vice District Governor uncontested and became the District Governor in the year 2004-2005.

During his long attachment with Lionism he received various awards for his dedicated service. Out of which, 100°%o President Award, 100°o0 Membership Growth Award, District Governors Appreciation and Commendation Awards and International Presidents Appreciation Certificate are very remarkable. Ln. Sharif was a Melvin Jones Fellow, the highest Award of the International Association of Lions Clubs. At ISAAME Forum he had received International President leadership medal from International President in Dhaka.

He was elected as the Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Lions Foundation and later he had been entrusted with the responsibility of the Chairman of BLF, which he was performing very effectively.

Ln. Sharif was associated with Journalism and also adequately qualified as a Photo Journalist. He was the Editor of “Weekly Doshdisha” (A weekly Magazine).

Ln. Nishat Parveen Huq is the second among five children of Late Engr. Mirza Motiar Rahman and Begum Sufia Sultana of Sirajganj. She was born on 27 April 1955. Ln. Nishat had her Pre and Elementary schooling at St. Scholastica’s Convent, Chittagong . Later in the year 1970 she had completed SSC from Dr. Khastagir’s Govt. Girls High School and HSC from Govt. Ln. Shafiqul Azam Bhuiyan was born on 26th March of 1962 in Dhaka. He comes from a respectable muslim family of Munshiganj District (Bikrampur). His grand father late Abdur Rahman Bhuiyan was also a Businessman and member of the Jury Board and Commissioner of the Barisal Municipality during British India period. A.S. Salahuddin Ahmed was born in a reputed family of Shariatpur District. His father Late Sirajuddin Ahmed was a political leader and was parliamentary secretary and member of the then East Pakistan Assembly. His mother late Halima Begum was a social worker.

In the year 1962 Kazi Eklasur Rahman was born in the revered and prestigious Kazi family; a prominent family of Tungipara, Gopalgonj. He was the first child of his parents Kazi Rafiqul Islam, a reputed businessman, and Begum Wahidun Nessa, a devoted housewife.

Kazi Eklasur Rahman was preliminarily schooled in the GT School in Tungipara and then the BK School in Khulna where he completed the SSC examinations with an outstanding result. Thereafter, he went on to complete the HSC examination from the Jagannath University College where he was well-known for his academic excellence and for consistently remaining the top student of his class.

Whilst being a remarkable student, he was also the most athletic. He received numerous accolades for triumphing in races, badminton tournaments and cricket tournaments. The most notable accomplishment among all others was winning the Khulna BK School inter-school badminton tournament. In recognition of outstanding leadership quality she was elected as 2nd Vice District Governor by the Delegates in 2017 for the year 2017-2018. Ln. Halen Akhter Nasrin was also elected as 1st Vice District Governor for 2018-2019. Ln. Nasrin was awarded International Presidential Appreciation Award by the 3 International Presidents in recognition of her outstanding services. Her contributions also received her credits like Club Extension award, 100% President award, District Governor Appreciation award and Appreciation award of Multiple District 315. Ln. Nasrin has participated in the Lions Clubs International Conventions many times in USA. Moreover, she has participated in the Lions ISAAME Forums in Dubai, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. With an aim to sculpt herself as a skilled leader, she has successfully completed the leadership training organized by the Lions Club International held in Delhi in 2016 and participated in various leadership training organized by Multiple District 315. Ln. Halen Akhter Nasrin is a Melvin Jones Fellow. She was the Senior Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Lions Foundation and Lions Eye Hospital, Dhaka. Her other club associations include member of Gulshan Club Ltd., Baridhara Cosmopolitan Club Ltd. and EC, member of Uttara Ladies Club. She is an Executive Committee & Life Member of Greater Comilla Association, Executive Committee & life member of Chandpur District Association. She is the Vice-Chairperson of the Bangladesh chapter of Japanese largest NGO named “OISCA International Japan” an affiliated organization of the United Nations. In personal life, Ln. Halen Akhter Nasrin has a happy family and she is the mother of two sons and two daughters. Her elder daughter, Afrida Ahmed, who was a third-year BBA student of North South University, passed away after a tragic road accident in 2017. Her elder son Rahat Ahmed is the founder and CEO of “Trinity VR Inc., USA’, – a third generation IT based business in New York, USA, who completed his graduation from the Stern School of Business of New York University. His company is experiencing rapid growth on the global market. Her younger son Farhad Ahmed is studying in Business in Texas and her younger daughter Tasfia Ahmed is a student of BBA in California, USA.

Dewan Nasirul Hoque PMJF was born in 1964 in an aristocratic and spiritual Muslim family in the village of Shamshabad of Sholaghar union of Bikrampur that is Sreenagar Upazila of Munshiganj District. His father is late Dewan Jion Ali and mother late Asia Khatun. He is the seventh of five brothers and four sisters. All of his brothers and sisters are well educated and well established in the country and abroad. In his childhood, he was a very meritorious student in the Shamshabad Government Primary School, Sholaghar AKSK High School and Sreenagar Goverment College. He secured first division in SSC and HSC in the science group. Subsequently he earned his graduation with honors and post-graduation degree from the Chemistry Department of University of Dhaka. Alongside his study in the university, he was engaged in the business and directly involved with various trade organization. He was one of the renowned founders of the multistoried modern Samabaya Twin Tower Market Complex on the 31 kathas in Bangabandhu Avenue, the heart centre of Dhaka and discharging duties as the Founder Secretary General with great success from its beginning till long time. Ln. Shahena Rahman was born in a famous Muslim Family at Wari in Dhaka on Sth December, 1971. She is a proud daughter of renowned businessman Alhaj Momotaj Mia and Mos. Mahfuza Begum.

Ln. Shahena Rahman passed SSC from Shar-EBangla Girls High School and HSC from Central Women’s College, Dhaka. She also completed her Graduation B.A (Hons) in Bengali Literature from Badrunessa Govt. College and she did her Master’s from Eden Girls University College. She started her career in Pharmaceutical Business. At present she is a Director, HR & Admin of Deeplaid Group and also playing as a key organizer of Deeplaid Social Welfare Project at Rajapur in the District Jhalakathi.

In the year of 1995, Ln. Shahena Rahman got married to Ln. Habibur Rahman (Nannu) MjF, PDG. He was the past District Governor (2011-2012) of Lions district 315 B1, Bangladesh and life time member of Bangladesh Lion foundation. He is a reputed industrialist of our country. He is the founder Chairman and Managing Director of Deeplaid Group of Industries. Ln. Shahena Rahman possesses a strong personality and holding always positive attitude. She likes to share with deprived poor people and interested to involve with various social activities. She is an acting member of Women’s Voluntary Association (WVA) in Dhaka.

A distinguished entrepreneur and philanthropist, Lion Md. Lutfor Rahman was born on January 6th, 1972, to a prominent Muslim family in Kashimpur, Nawabganj, Dhaka. His father, Late Md. Younus Ali, was a renowned businessman, and his mother, Late Sajeda Ali, was a devout lady and homemaker. Amongst his three brothers and five sisters Mr. Rahman is the youngest, all of whom are established in their respective careers.

Mr. Rahman’s educational journey began in 1976. He passed his SSC Examination with brilliant results from Nawabganj Pilot High School in 1986. Later in 1988, he completed his HSC examination with exceptional grades from Govt. Science College, Dhaka. Mr. Rahman obtained his bachelor’s degree from Dhaka University in 1990. He completed his CA course under the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh in 1995. Additionally, he obtained an MBA degree from Dhaka International University. He was also awarded the title of ‘Fellow Certified General Accountant’(FCGA) from the Institute of General Accountants of Bangladesh.

Mr. Rahman started his professional journey as an Audit Manager at Ata Khan & Co., a reputable CA firm, in 1996. Later he joined Unique Group in 2000 as an Audit Manager and eventually rose to the position of Finance Manager in 2006. Later in 2009 he became the CEO of Unique Eastern Pvt. Ltd. He also served as CEO of Unique Share Management, a member of Dhaka Stock Exchange, from 2011 to 2016.

With 20 years of experience in his illustrious professional career, Mr. Rahman started his own venture SAN Corporation Ltd. in 2017, where he is now the Chairman and CEO. He also holds other notable positions such as Director of Heaven Tours and Travels Ltd., Director of Ekushey Homes Ltd., and Director of Ekushey Ceramics Ltd. Furthermore, Mr. Rahman is also Joint-Convener of the Tourism & Hospitality Development Committee of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI). He has visited many countries including United Kingdom, India, Nepal, Thailand, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam and many more for business and collaboration related purposes.

Mr. Rahman joined Lionism under Lions Club of Dhaka Aristocrat, District 315B1 Bangladesh in 2014. He later became the Charter President of Lions Club of Dhaka Banani Model Town in 2016. Considering his dedicated service Ln. Lutfor Rahman was elected as 2nd Vice District Governor of District 315B1 in 2021 and in 2022 was elected as 1st Vice District Governor. His journey throughout Lionism has been a delightful one for he has shown exemplary leadership qualities and has served in various key positions of Lions District 315B1, including Zone Chairperson, Region Chairperson, October Service Co-Chairperson, Region Chairperson, Convention Chairperson, October Service Chairperson.

Throughout his Lionistic career Mr. Rahman has attended numerous leadership and skill development training sessions including RLLI Training, ALLI Training, DG and FVDG Training He had also taken part in important international events such as the ISAME Forum where he exchanged his views and developed his Lionistic vision by interacting with several highly respected Lion Leaders including International Presidents, Vice Presidents, International Directors and Area Leaders.

Mr. Rahman is a ‘Melvin Jones Fellow,’ an award named after Melvin Jones, the founder of Lions Clubs International, and has been recognized with a number of awards by different organizations for his contributions to the community such as International President’s Appreciation Award, District Governor’s Appreciation Award, Mother Teresa Award.

She is also associated with other social organizations such as, Uttara Ladies Club, St. Francis Xavier’s Girls’ School & College Alumni Association and Families for Children. They are blessed with one son, Leo Aritro Rahman, who completed his O levels and A Levels from Scholastica with outstanding results. He is currently completing his BBA in Finance and Economics from North South University, the number one private university in Bangladesh. He is also the Immediate Past President of Leo Club of Dhaka Aristocrat and District Joint Secretary of Leo District Council 315B1 Bangladesh, following the footsteps of his father.

Ln. Md. Ibrahim Khalil is the elder brother of Mr. Lutfor and is the Vice-President of Nawabganj Upazila Awami League, Chairman of Kolakopa Union Parishad, and President of Nawabganj Press Club. He is the Charter President of Lions Club of Banani Greater. Past District Governor Ln. Benajir Ahmed PMJF is Mr. Rahman’s brother-in-law and a reputed industrialist of the country and is the Chairman of Raymond Group of Industries as well as Founder Trustee & Former Chairman of North South University.
